• Compound Herb Extracts Compound Herb Extracts

Herbal extracts are a liquid solution of herbs and alcohol. The majority of herbs in our Compound Herb Extracts are wildcrafted and organically grown in Mt. Shasta, CA. Those we cannot wild harvest or grow are from the highest quality organic sources we can find. We take pride in producing extracts whenever possible from fresh plant material, creating the most consistent, potent, energetic and medicinal remedies.

To create compound herb extracts, we start with our high quality single herb extracts and combine these to create effective and potent formulas. We select herbs that work synergistically with each other to address a specific health concern, specific system imbalances, and optimize overall health.

Herbal extracts are concentrated plant remedies that are better assimilated by the body than dried herbs and capsules. They should be used at their lowest effective dose. Suggested dose varies by extract. Consult individual labels for dosage. Tinctures can be taken directly under the tongue, in a small amount of water, or in hot water to evaporate off the alcohol. When stored in a cool dark place extracts have a shelf life of five years.

The herbs in our Healing Salves are always harvested with respect and care at their peak seasonal potency. Salves are produced from fresh plant material and processed with care by hand in small batches. Each herb is infused slowly with the power of the sun in organic oil for one complete lunar cycle and then hand pressed. We then blend these medicinal oils with high quality pure filtered beeswax, organic unrefined shea butter and vitamin E oil. These ingredients are chosen for their soothing and emollient properties. We add specific organic essential oils for their medicinal virtues. Wise Mountain Botanicals’ salves are for topical application and are an excellent way to directly deliver plant medicine through the skin.
